What is eduroam?

eduroam (education roaming) is the secure worldwide roaming access service for the international research and education community.

The service allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campus and when visiting participating institutions.

Further information at the official eduroam website and the official eduroam Spain website.

How does it work?

When you log on to the wireless eduroam network outside the University of Deusto, your user credentials will be sent to the UD for authentication and authorisation to use the wireless connection of the visited institution.

If you are at one of the University of Deusto’s campuses, the process will be carried out locally.

Installation

The best way to configure eduroam is with the eduroam CAT (Configuration Assistant Tool). The installer is available at cat.eduroam.org.

Follow these instructions to download the installer:

  1. Select the group you belong to: "Estudiante" (Student) or "PAS/PDI" (Assistance & Services Staff / Teaching & Research Staff).
  2. Select the operating system or platform on which you want to configure eduroam.

Take a look on the example guides:

  1. Android: Guide
  2. Chromebook: Guide
  3. iOS (iPod, iPad, iPhone): Guide
  4. Mac: Video
  5. Windows: Video

The configuration on this website should work in any institution belonging to eduroam. Otherwise, there is probably a problem with the institution you have visited.

Do not accept configurations (or certificates) from an institution other than the University of Deusto, and contact eduroam@deusto.es if you are advised to set up eduroam in a different way.
